Summer, sun and hands-on science
July 28th, 2025
At the end of the summer semester, the University of Marburg celebrated its annual summer festival on July 25, 2025—and the LOEWE Research Center DYNAMIC was right in the middle of it. Together with five other LOEWE projects, DYNAMIC presented itself at the ProLOEWE booth and invited visitors to learn about and discuss current research on the network approach of mental illness.

A particular highlight was a specially developed throwing game in which guests could take on the role of psychotherapists themselves, leading with the question:
Which symptoms should be treated first in order to help a person with the typical symptoms of generalized anxiety disorder?
The DYNAMIC team engaged in conversation with numerous visitors in a relaxed atmosphere. Many took the opportunity to learn about mental health or share their own experiences.
We are delighted with this successful conclusion to the summer semester, with hands-on science and many interesting discussions.
The game illustrated how targeted treatments of symptoms, such as frequent anxiety and worry in everyday life, can have a positive effect on the entire network of various mental health issues. It showed that treatment at central nodes of the network can often alleviate other complaints, such as sleep disorders, concentration problems, or inner restlessness.
