Short description:
In the first study of the DYNAMIC Kids project, we are investigating which factors strengthen or burden the well-being of young people in everyday life. We want to better understand how feelings, thoughts, experiences, and behavior interact and how they develop over time.
A central component of the study is short surveys in the everyday lives of children and adolescents, which are conducted over a period of three weeks and can be easily answered via smartphone. This allows us to record the experiences of children and adolescents directly in their everyday lives and observe possible changes over time. The result is a realistic picture of how the well-being of children and adolescents develops over time in their everyday lives and which situations or experiences are associated with this. The results of the study can thus contribute to the early identification of risk constellations and the development of support services for young people that are more specifically targeted to their needs.
To this end, the project team is now relying on the participation of children and adolescents aged 10 to 16, who will contribute their everyday experiences to the study and thus support research into the mental health of young people.
Participation Information:
Who can participate?
We are looking for children and young people aged 10 to 16 throughout Germany who would like to participate in our current study together with a parent (or a person with legal custody).

At the end of the online questionnaire, participating children and adolescents will receive their code to participate in the smartphone survey (to log into the app). Over a total of three weeks, the participating children and adolescents will then complete three short surveys on their smartphones every day (approx. 4 to 8 minutes in the morning, after school, and in the evening).
