DYNAMIC partner institutions are spread across Hesse in Germany. They include psychiatric clinics and psychotherapeutic outpatient clinics as well as other research institutes and centers of expertise for artificial intelligence and statistics.

Clinical Children and Adolescent Psychology Marburg

The Department of Clinical Children and Adolescent Psychology at Philipps-University is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of mental disorders in children, adolescents and young adults. In addition to research, future psychotherapists are trained in the training outpatient clinic. The university outpatient clinic includes specialist outpatient clinics like “Families in distress” and “ADHD in adulthood”.

Department of Psychology at the Philipps-University Marburg

The Department of Psychology at Philipps-University Marburg is home to numerous clinical groups, as well as the Institute for Psychotherapy Training Marburg and the university outpatient clinic. We train psychologists, recently also as part of the licensing course for psychotherapy. Our department also has a working group for methodology, which has been working on the development of dynamic network models for some time.

 

Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Marburg

The Clinic for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy in Marburg treats the broad spectrum of all child and adolescent psychiatric disorders in the three districts of Marburg-Biedenkopf, Gießen and Wetteraukreis. Research focuses on attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder and developmental psychopathology in general. In addition to university teaching, future psychotherapists (IVV) are also trained here. 

Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Marburg 

As a maximum care provider, the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Marburg at the University Hospital Gießen and Marburg offers a comprehensive range of treatments for all mental illnesses. The clinic has treatment places in inpatient, day-care and outpatient settings. The clinic's main areas of research include imaging research and computational psychiatry.

Department of Psychology at Justus-Liebig-University Gießen

The Department of Psychology at the University of Gießen has several clinical research groups. In addition, an outpatient clinic has been established where training is offered to acquire a clinical license. A major focus in Gießen concerns the link between clinical psychology and systems neuroscience, institutionalized by the Bender Institute for Neuroimaging.

The Therapy Outpatient Clinic for Children and Adolescents in Gießen is an institution of the Justus-Liebig-University Gießen, where future child and adolescent psychotherapists are trained according to state-of-the art evidence based psychotherapy. To further improve treatment of mental disorders in children and adolescents, the university outpatient clinic continuously conducts accompanying clinical studies.

As a maximum care provider, the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy in Gießen is prepared to treat all types of mental disorders. It specializes on the treatment of young adults, of depression and trauma disorders and psychotic disorders. Research focuses on brain imaging, the treatment of trauma disorders and psychosis.

Department of Psychology at Goethe-University Frankfurt

The Department of Psychology at the University of Frankfurt has a clinical focus with a psychotherapeutic outpatient clinic. Research focuses primarily on practical psychotherapy research and dissemination. There are projects on new treatments for various anxiety disorders and for depression, as well as for trauma disorders and for persistent grief disorders. A specialized therapy center for refugees is also affiliated with the outpatient clinic. 

Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Goethe -University Frankfurt

The Institute of Computer Science at the University of Frankfurt, and the Institute of Mathematics as well as the Institute for Didactics of Mathematics and Computer Science, form the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Goethe-University Frankfurt. One research focus of the Institute of Computer Science is the field of “Machine Learning and Computational Neuroscience”, which has a long tradition in Frankfurt and whose expertise flows into DYNAMIC.

The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Frankfurt University Hospital is a maximum care provider in Hesse that treats all mental illnesses. Special research focuses can be found, for example, in brain research and the translational examination of mental illnesses. The scientific focus is on research into therapy-resistant depression and adult attention deficit disorder.

In terms of research, scientists focus on translational research in autism spectrum disorders, social behavior disorders and attention deficit disorders. Furthermore, interventional research focuses on mental disorders in toddlers, preschool and primary school age children.

The Department of Computer Science at TU Darmstadt has long been known for its expertise regarding artificial intelligence and machine learning. This is reflected, for example, in specialized master's programs or in corresponding non-university initiatives. The Darmstadt researchers' expertise in integrating data from various sources into corresponding machine learning models will be important for the massively multivariate datasets that are obtained by the DYNAMIC projects.

DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education

The DIPF | Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education is a scientific institution in the field of educational research. The research is aimed at administrative bodies, educational practitioners and academics, among others. As part of DYNAMIC, the DIPF will primarily focus on innovative approaches to improving the treatment of mental health problems in children and adolescents.

Ernst Strüngmann Institute for Neuroscience

The Ernst Strüngmann Institute for Neuroscience is a private research institute in Frankfurt that is primarily concerned with (cognitive) neuroscience. Its research focuses on the neurological basis of language, the mechanisms of human perception and research into neuronal prediction and information processing. Finally, the scientists are also researching the complex network structure of the brain.
